Quadblog Update for the Week of May 7

We are getting ready for College Night on the evening of May 15. Each of the advisory classes was given a college for which they would create a recruiting poster. This should have gotten our students thinking about their future.

Quadblog - Sharing More Information about the Houston Area

Our students created their own avatars and they appeared in our "classroom" at Bitstrips.com.
Then they each created a comic showing Houston based upon its local attractions, activities and climate.

Our seventh grade students were gone all day to the Museum of Natural Science, so only the 8th graders were in class. I'll let them each introduce themselves. We still don't have our email addresses, so I have to post for them.

Greetings from Santa Fe Junior High

Our class, Web 2.0 Applications, is a brand new class at our 6th, 7th and 8th grade school. We have about 1,000 students aged 11 years old to 15 years old at Santa Fe Junior High. We have 28 students in our class.

Here are some of the descriptions from our students:
"Our school was rebuilt last year and now we are trying to grow grass. Our school has a lot of electives such as this computer class. Our school is very athletic and competitive. We have sports such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, and track. Our school also has a good academic team program."

"Our school colors are green and gold.We are the Indians.We have to wear a badge everyday.Our school is kinda big and clean!We have 6th 7th and 8th graders in our school so it's really packed.We have over 10 elective classes.We get Chick-fil-a on Tuesday and Thursday.Our cafeteria is kinda big. Our school is kinda fun!"

"There are 7 school periods in our school day. Each student  has 2 electives and some are high school credit classes like health, teen leadership, and Spanish. 7th grade has athletics in the morning (1st period). 8th grade has athletics in the afternoon (7th period). We have badges at our school to do our attendance and for safety purposes. Our school has sports such as volleyball, basketball, football, and track."
